A little about our clinic:
We are extremely proud of our clinic design. It started as drawing on graph paper but soon moved up to sidewalk chalk and cardboard cutouts.
It was built in Austin, Texas by Sports Mobile and was constructed inside of a 2008 Dodge Sprinter Van. In the clinic, we have most of the features of a normal veterinary hospital arranged into a much smaller space. The rear area of the clinic is equipped with stainless steel cages for transportation of animals. One of these cages was designed with a clear airtight door to be used for animals needing oxygen therapy. A fully stocked diagnostic lab also resides in the rear of the vehicle complete with bloodwork machines, Doppler blood pressure, ECG, pulse oximetry, microscope, etc... The center area is our examination/treatment area. An exam table with running water, exam lights, refrigerator, scale, and isofluorane anesthesia machine has been installed. The area directly behind the cab consists of a fully stocked pharmacy and doctor's work area. The cab is separated from the work area by a partition door. Temperature control is maintained by a roof mounted air-conditioning and heating unit. In order to operate the A/C unit as well as the diagnostic lab and other equipment, a 6,000-watt generator has been installed. A backup power system is also in place to ensure electricity will always be available. |
